Accelerated BSN or MSN

Accelerated nursing programs are designed to cover a copious amount of material in a very short amount of time. No breaks are scheduled and a day of classes may be longer than traditional programs. For entry-level non-nurses the accelerated Bachelor's and accelerated Master's degrees are available. To qualify, the prospective student must have at least a Bachelor's degree in a non-nursing major.

This model, unlike the others, was not created to fill a need to create partnerships among nursing schools. Rather, this model is fueled by rising demand from individuals pursing nursing as a second career.

More than 200 accelerated options are available across the United States. Many of these programs are online, offering an additional layer of convenience for practicing nurses.
